The last three days were full of swimming and fun. My camera stayed home, though. There's too much to talk about and observe sometimes, and if I bring the camera I don't feel I can be fully present.
Here is what I want to remember:
1) Phillip swam an incredible individual medley on Thursday. Even though four other boys in his age group have better times on their medleys, we are proud of him for dropping twelve (!) seconds from his last race, and finishing first in his heat with the time of 2.00.83. He's not going to be able to swim a medley in the championships because he was not under two minutes, so I asked him if the feeling of having missed by one second was better or worse than if he had missed it by the original twelve. He said he's happy to have missed by so little. That a boy!
2) Playdate, swimming, and pizza with Maya's friend on Friday. I really enjoyed talking to the mom, so that's the best type of playdate!
3) Swimming and Brazilian-style barbecue at some friends yesterday. The whole family had a great time, except for Phillip complaining remarking that I would stop talking to my lady friends. Who? Me?
4) Watching Secretariat as a family (plus neighbor) yesterday. It was a great movie and just what we needed help us relax after all the activities.
Life is full. My heart is full. Am I so thankful!
